As I sit down, listening to my music
I think about the time I spent with you
And remember all of the good and bad
Was it really worth it?  Are we done?

We had our share of walks in the shade
Of kisses and love, and of secrets in between
I loved the way you laughed, and danced
And so I thought I found my true love

But I also saw the flaws within, of things I was blind
Which gave us many fights and arguments
Not to mention our differences in a lot of things
These I could not see at the time, but now I do

Yet you also saw many things in me
Things that you did not like, things you hated
We shouldn’t have to change just for each other
We need to find someone who is perfect

I tried my best, and so did you
But in the end, we couldn’t take it
And so we decided to stay friends
And you know what, it’s not that bad

I know everything about you, you about me
And we can laugh at it, its all fun
But it can’t work as a relationship
Because we realized that this isn’t what we want

But if someone was to ask me if it was a mistake
Then I say no, because how could we have known
The real us when we are blinded by love
Love is learned trough experience

We tried, and it didn’t work, at least we know
I have no regrets, nor should you
So let’s be friends, go for a walk
And let the memories be our answer
